We're here every day. We regularly help more than 80 children and young people from 3 to 20 years old.
The centre was founded by the Pohanks, who wanted to help children and young people avoid drugs, crime, and social exclusion, but above all to give them love and acceptance, which they often lacked given the conditions in which they lived.
Most of our children are of Roma nationality, from socially weak conditions, often from broken families, with little support in their efforts to get an education and join society. Since 2022, many Ukrainian children have also come to us as a result of the war.
Our goal is to help these children and teenagers find and gain confidence for their lives, that they can succeed, and that life can be better than the one they are currently experiencing.
We believe that everyone needs good relationships and examples in their lives. We believe that everyone needs to experience unconditional acceptance.
We believe we can provide such a relationship.
Both grew up in difficult circumstances. They found asylum in clubs. Today, both have graduated and are helping younger people on their own.
We believe God is a good foundation for a good, full life.
Children from 3 years old have their own room full of toys, kits, games and books. There is a sandpit, a small house and a slide in the backyard. They can ride scooters and bikes. The program includes preschool preparation, rhymes, songs and a Bible story.
Children from 1st grade to 11 years old have a programme packed with games and activities. They are provided with bicycles and scooters and go to playgrounds together. For part of the afternoon they can choose from a range of workshops - art, football or games. We help them with their homework. They also have a Christian programme together.
The youngsters from the age of 11 have meetings on different days than the younger children, so they have the whole house to themselves. The schedule is more relaxed, there is time to talk, cook, play board games or football. The boys often come to play football. Sometimes they're in the mood for a movie. The Christian program is also included here.

The Teen Challenge Children and Youth Center is a non-profit organization and operates largely through the generous donations of individuals, businesses and churches. It is only because of them that we are able to help so many children and their families. You can be a part of our ministry.
